#MayIsMuseumMonth! 🎉 #DYK that #FortHenry opened as a living history museum in 1938 thanks to Ronald L. Way? He was the supervisor of restoration who came up with the idea of a “Guard” to represent the garrisons of the past as a way of relating the Fort's history to visitors.

Great photo! And that's not just any goat - it's David, a white Saanen goat that was donated to @FortHenry by the St. David's Society of Toronto way back in 1953.

When meeting Lieutenant-Governor Louis Orville Breithaupt during a special opening of Parliament in 1953, the #FortHenryGuard came prepared with their red regalia ... and a goat!
